The blood centre at PRS Hospital follows nationalised standard policies and is working in complaince with Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules, 1945 which operates with a valid licence. The primary scope of its service include collection, storage and issue of whole blood and separation of blood components including PRBC, fresh frozen plasma, cryo precipitates and platelets to the patients of PRS hospital and also out side hospitals.

Donation of blood at regular intervals is one of the best ways to show humanitarism. In addition, regular donation will enhance the health status of the donor. PRS Blood centre commitioned since 2003 with whole blood followed by components and apheresis (platelet apheresis). It is with pride we say that the Department of Transfusion Medicine of our hospital is also able to support other nearby hospitals by providing properly screened and well matched blood and blood products. PRS Blood centre also provides apheresis procedure facility inside the hospital and for out side hospitals also.

Ultra modern serology(Vitros Eci) and immunology (ortho workstation), highly Sophisticated separation machines (KBM 70 PLUS), TRIMA ACCEL, automated Cell separator etc. provide good quality products for the inpatients and out Patients.

PRS Hospital had also launched a project named PRS JEEVAN that conduct outdoor camps and awareness class about benefits of blood donation. The project aims to create awareness among the public on the importance of blood donation through organizing various blood donation camps and awareness programs in educational institutions and other public private enterprises.
